Taking a walk after a heavy snow; finding the sunset behind your favorite pine on the street; boardgames and card games.  These were a few of my favorite things during the Blizzard of 2016.

Being snowed in for 5 days was wonderful.  30″ of snow fell which broke records for our area.  The snow plows didn’t show up for 3 days to clear a lane down our street so our neighbors snow plowed paths between houses on our street to exchange food and baked goods.  Their acts of kindness spoke of their heart for community and friendship.  They could have waited until 3 days after the storm, but instead they met us in the street and made it a fun gathering.

Timing is everything.  If you get the chance and you think to reach out to someone, take the plunge.  Reach out of the “usual” and “casual” to be purposeful and intentional.  You are making a difference in a life and they will remember you for it.
