Creation Festivals

Music, music, music.  There’s something about the thump in your chest, strobe lights overhead, and the roar of a jumping crowd to get your blood surging through your veins.  Creation Music Festival (creationfest.org) is one way for a family to grow together.

Since 2009 we have been volunteering 4.5 hours of our time each day at the festival in exchange for a $20 ticket.  You really can’t beat it, and it’s better than mowing 35 lawns to raise money to go.  🙂  The boys have brought friends from church and made new ones when they attended.  Ultimately each one of us walk away with pockets full of stories, new favorite bands, a little dirt, and tons of memories made around the stage and campfire.

Creation is a place where it seems that every age group can be reached.  7 unique stages, dance parties (A silent rave is scheduled for the late night dance party this year.  Can’t wait.), skate park, fireworks, places to check out art, a kids grove, and of course camping.  Not only this, but the people on stage are 100% sold out to encouraging and teaching others to walk a godly path.

Teenagers are so impressionable.  Giving them every reason to believe in a God that loves them and died for them is my ultimate responsibility as a Christian parent.  Stats show that I WILL die one day, but the Bible says that a Mighty God will walk with them through their lives.  It’s their choice to want to live for Him.  What we offer to do with our children will one day guide them in their own daily choices.  This festival is just a drop in the bucket of Summer, but I believe it made an impact on their decision to live for God.

A fun summer event with great music, activities and opportunities to make new friends.  But most importantly I trust that time at Creation Festival will enrich their love for music and impact their lives for eternity.
